Pullbox Previews Greetings From the MAGLEV, a Buckle up & Hang on ride through the Post-Apocalyptic landscape from Invader Comics

BUCKLE UP AND TAKE A RIDE ON THE MAGLEV IN THIS THRILLING NEW SAGA FROM INVADER COMICS!

In a world where gasoline is a thing of the past, the world’s biggest corporations have united to create the Maglev – a vast, cross-country superhighway that utilizes magnetic roadways and solar power to keep the nation moving – for a price. This harsh post-apocalyptic landscape forms the backdrop for a dystopian new vision of America from the minds of artist Adam Cahoon (Vault Comics’ The Nasty, The Tuffs, Anomaly) and writer Mark Espinosa (Tales of Hot Rod Horror 2).

“Since the days of Mark Twain, and continuing with Jack Kerouac and Cormac McCarthy, there’s been an endless fascination with stories from the road,” says Invader Comics publisher, Mike Perkins. “It provides a fertile, and uniquely American, setting for a variety of tales – and Greetings from the Maglev! is no exception. Taking ideas and concepts ripped straight from today’s headlines, the series follows them through to their seemingly unnatural conclusions.”

Chris Miles was one of the Highwaymen – a privatized police force used to patrol and protect the Maglev – and this was meant to be her last assignment. All she had to do was babysit the son of the Maglev’s founder, Victor Heines, on a ‘humanitarian’ mission across the legendary roadway. Everything seemed to be going well, but when Miles refused to play by their rules, she found herself locked away for a crime she didn’t commit. Now, she’ll have to find a way to break out of one of the world’s most advanced super-prisons and make her way back across the country atop the dangerous Maglev she swore to protect. Good thing revenge is a powerful motivator.

The first volume of Greetings from the Maglev! debuted last year to an incredible response and was chosen as one of Kickstarter’s Projects that they Love. Now, the creative team are back with the second part of their epic trilogy, as Chris Miles’ cross-country saga unfolds. This new volume launches on Kickstarter today – Tuesday, September 2 – and offers readers the chance to experience the next chapter, as well as catch up on what came before.

We’re always looking for new projects that will surprise people while reinforcing our reputation as a home for engaging narratives,” adds Perkins. “The whole team was blown away by the world Adam and Mark had created – and Cahoon’s unique art style brought it to life in a way that didn’t look like anything else on the shelves. We’re committed to bringing fresh concepts and voices to readers, while continuing our invasion of their hearts and bookshelves.”
