Santa Monica, CA. – Independent comic book publisher Sitcomics™ has unveiled its Binge Book “Class of 2019,” a wave of all-new, triple-sized comics arriving July 31st in comic shops across the US and Canada. Founded by veteran TV sitcom writer Darin Henry (Seinfeld), Sitcomics made headlines in January 2018 with the introduction of its groundbreaking Binge Book™ format, which gives readers a standalone, 64-page entertainment experience for only $3.99. The Binge Book Class of 2019 boasts all-new, triple-sized issues of Sitcomics’ flagship superhero titles The Blue Baron™ and Startup™ along with the debut of its new ongoing super-hero series Headhunter™, featuring art by animation legend Steven E. Gordon (Ralph Bakshi Productions).
Sitcomics’ Class of 2019 also sees the launch of the company’s “Variant Value” initiative where all covers produced for the digital release of any storyline will be included as back-up pages in the printed Binge Book™ editions at no extra charge. “Slapping multiple different covers on the same printed story does nothing to increase readership,” explains Sitcomics publisher Darin Henry. “If anything, the practice confuses and discourages new readers. Our Variant Value program means that even though each copy of The Blue Baron Binge Book #3 will have the same image on its front cover, everyone who buys it in print will still get to enjoy three all-new Ron Frenz & Sal Buscema covers for the price of one.”
In addition to the three new Binge Books, Sitcomics’ Class of 2019 also includes the company’s first official San Diego Comic Con Exclusive — Barbra Macabre’s Morbid Museum #1.1. With exclusive cover and interior art by industry icon Al Milgrom (The Avengers), this limited edition 32-page horror/comedy anthology title will be sold exclusively at the company’s San Diego Comic Con Small Press table K-04. Priced at just $3.99, Barbra Macabre’s Morbid Museum #1.1 will be the least expensive official exclusive being sold at the 50th Anniversary of the famed Comic Convention being held later this month.
Sitcomics are available exclusively in comic book shops which take part in the company’s Sell-Thru Distribution System which reduces risk for independent retailers by allowing shops to return unsold copies of the publisher’s non-#1 issues. Retailers who wish to carry the publisher’s entire line of new and back issue Binge Book releases including zombie comedy Z-People, drawn by MAD artist Tom Richmond and vampire comedy Super ‘Suckers, which features art by Jeff Shultz (Betty & Veronica) can do so by emailing the publisher directly at editor@sitcomics.net.
