The Green Lantern Corps #16 (The Sinestro War pt. 7) (DC – Johns / Reis) – The chains are off and the Green Lanterns (GL) have gone from a peace keeping intergalactic peace force to an army of ticked off soldiers wielding the galaxies best weapons. Last month in Green Lantern #23, the Guardians of Oa re-wrote the Book of Oa (the Green Lantern bible) to allow the GLs to use lethal force. In the past when any GL tried to deliver a killing stroke, their ring would shut down leaving them open to attack. Enter the Sinestro Corps (SC) and their murderous ways, and our heroes are left with lots of dead comrades and an urge for vengeance. I’m not going to get into too much of the story because it’s just too good for me to give away. But I will say that when the GLs get their license to kill, the eviscerations are worthy of a Fangoria comic.
The writers and collaborators of the Sinestro Corps. War once again put in near perfect issue. This is by far this years best cross over event.
