INVADER COMICS GOES ALL-OUT WITH THEIR NEWKICK-ASS KUNG FU AND KAIJU DOUBLE FEATURE!
Unfortunately, we missed this Kickstarter project… but they made their funding. While we wait for these installments to hit the Invader Store, the first volumes are available at a more than reasonable price (I know this because by way of apology for not presenting this great-looking comic in a more timely fashion, I ordered volume 1 for Kodoja & Three Protectors…). For now, here’s what we have to look forward to!

Invader Comics are bringing one of their most popular and longest-running series to a close with the long-awaited release of Kodoja Volume 4, so to celebrate they’re partnering it with the latest volume in writer Keith Foster’s other great South East Asian-inspired kung-fu classic, Three Protectors, as part of the appropriately titled Kick-Ass Kung-Fu and Kaiju Double Feature campaign!
Kodoja is a kaiju eiga meets Lovecraft story of giant monsters and an eldritch evil. The story consists of three, soon to be four, graphic novel volumes, and is a throwback to the earliest giant monster films – especially Gojira (1954) and Rodan (1956). Both films carry a darker tone than their later counterparts, and both are in black and white. Kodoja’s fusion of these earlier films with a Lovecraftian mythos (without getting too dark) sets a future direction for giant monster stories.
Symphony of Madness is the fourth and final volume of Kodoja, and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone graphic novel, or as the finale of the Kodoja series! In this volume, giant monsters continue to surface and overwhelm the earth as the disembodied pieces of Kodoja, once thought destroyed, reappear to fight the monsters. This is mega-kaiju action at its finest in a story SO MASSIVE it took three interior artists (Will Perkins, Tony Gregori, and Carlo Romero) to capture the giant monster madness!

Meanwhile, over in Three Protectors, intergalactic Kung Fu gods have kidnapped masters from across the galaxy with one purpose: all-out war! The prize? The collective Kung Fu knowledge of the entire universe. Shaw Brothers-style Kung Fu meets cosmic odyssey in this newest joint from the creators of Kodoja! There has never been a more epic spectacle of combat put in print than Three Protectors – and for Volume 2, Jhomar Soriano picks up the pencil to continue depicting the epic showdown for the source of all Kung Fu knowledge. The book features a limited edition cover that pairs nicely with Kodoja Volume 4 for the ultimate home viewing experience!
