The final issue of this sci-fi horror comedy book about a man trying to get revenge on the robot he created launched today on Kickstarter
Canadian comic book writer, Matt McGrath, launched the third and final issue of ID-10t error, his off-beat comic series he co-created with illustrator Otavio Colino.
ID-10T error is a Black Mirroresque revenge comedy about Bradley, a lonely, disgruntled man, who creates the world’s most advanced artificially intelligent robot. Why? So he can torture and kill it.
But, when his AI gains consciousness for the first time, Bradley discovers there’s a problem he didn’t account for—that his creation will do anything to survive.
In the third and final issue, Bradley is the new lead engineer of the ID-10t project, struggling to recreate his miraculous sentient AI for the tech start-up, roboTO. Although his dreams are finally coming true, a part of Bradley can’t allow himself to feel happiness…not until he finishes what he started.
Meanwhile! The AI is trapped within the maze of its mind and must confront the truth of their creation, overcome a demonic version of Bradley and emerge as their true self.
Working with Matt on ID-10t error is artist and series co-creator Otavio Colino, colourist Kay Baird, and letterer Frank Cvetkovic.
“The idea for this story came from my experiences with technology and my over-reliance on it…something I think everyone can relate to. We feel so helpless when something goes wrong with the tech we rely on. So ID-10t error is about a guy who takes this frustration to an absurd level; where he needs to turn a piece of hardware into a thinking, feeling being so he can get ‘revenge’ on it and receive some type of emotional closure,” says Matt McGrath.
“It’s a weird, disturbing off-the-wall story, but also a ton of fun. We go out with a huge bang on this issue, and I’m immensely proud of the work the team did on this entire series.”
The previous issues ID-10t error were successfully funded in two previous Kickstarter campaigns. This campaign will raise funds to fund the production and printing of Issue 3 and bring the series to a close.
