Bai Ze and the Book of Monsters in the spirit of Halloween is an anthology of short horror comics focusing on creatures from Asian myths and legends.
We first released The Bai Ze and the Book of Monsters Volume 1 as a combined comic and anthology which introduced the Bai Ze to the world of Luminous Ages. The opening story was 27 pages and was followed by an anthology of short comics set after the happenings of the first 27 pages, making it into a 44 page comic & anthology. It was a wild success becoming Australia’s highest funded comics anthology on Kickstarter. Due to this success many of the creators have reached out to me and we have decided to release volume 2 for Halloween.
We plan to continue releasing anthologies in this series. The Bai Ze knew of all 11520 monsters in the known universe and recorded them in the Book of Monsters. Our vision is to create multiple tomes that simulate what could have been in the actual Book of Monsters. Volume 2 will focus on Chinese and Asian monsters, but our goal is to expand to all known monsters in world mythology in the future opening it up to other creators.

Anthony Christou is sometimes a druid and other times a bard. He is a writer, digital artist, traditional painter, illustrator, game designer, gardener, and all-around creative guy based in Adelaide, South Australia, but his family is originally from Cyprus and he still feels a strong connection to his homeland. His passion is for fantasy, mythology, and surrealism. He is well known for taking his fantasy and popular culture paintings to comic conventions around Australia and the globe.
