CRICKETSONG – A New Horror Comic from Daryl Toh and Ryan King Comes to Kickstarter
Daryl Toh, known for the popular webcomic The Misadventures of Tobias and Guy, and Ryan King, the comic writer behind the horror comics Nico’s Fortune and The Games We Played, return to Kickstarter to fund their latest horror comic: CRICKETSONG, set to launch on May 7th, 2019 and end on June 7th, 2019.
Abandoned by his friends at a bar across the Mexico border, the millennial Emile begins to wonder if hitching a ride back home with Barry, a smuggler twice his age, was the right decision. From there the two set forth on a road trip through the Southern California desert and into a world of prosperity, unknown criminal horrors, and the marginally thin divide.
Taking inspiration from such troubling road trip genre benders like Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s FROM DUSK TIL DAWN, the 80’s horror classic THE HITCHER, and hedonistic road narratives, like On the Road, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, and Into the Wild, CRICKETSONG promises to deliver a new take on horror crime thrillers. The release of CRICKETSONG marks the third horror comic collaboration from King and Toh; their previous two horror comics NICO’S FORTUNE and THE GAMES WE PLAYED were both successfully funded via Kickstarer and released in the Fall of 2017.

His work has also appeared in Oh, Joy Sex Toy!, Burl and Fur, Deadendia, and he created the artwork for Imp House, LLC’s Chaos of Cthulu board game and Mad Love card game.
