Oh yeah, I expected to pan this one. While I think what Archie has done to revamp itself, make itself relevant again, has been nothing short of astonishing, I was sure this was the book that just stretched too far. I was doubly certain because I didn’t really recognize the names of any of the artists or writers. The weak cover particularly put me off. Yeah… I though it was coming.
But, while maybe a little campy, this is book I would hand to any kid. The stories were all well thought out, focused and well told. The art was competent, not sloppy or rushed, and compounded the comedy. While all good, the second story (of 3) “Have It All” was down right, legitimately touching.
Definitively worth your while.
