Wizard World (OTCBB: WIZD) has announced the celebrity and superstar creator rosters for the 2013 Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience, June 28-30 at Basketball city (Pier 36) in Manhattan. Comics legend Stan Lee, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” icon Patrick Stewart and five prominent cast members of “The Walking Dead,” including Norman Reedus, Laurie Holden, Michael Rooker, Jon Bernthal and Chandler Riggs, “The Fonz” Henry Winkler and WWE® Superstar CM Punk® top the celebrity list. Mike Deodato Jr., (“Amazing Spider-Man,” “Wonder Woman”), Carlos Pacheco (“X-Men,” “Green Lantern”), Humberto Ramos (“The Spectacular Spider-Man,” “Impulse”) and Eisner Award Hall of Famer Neal Adams (“Batman,” “Superman”) are among the most prominent creators attending.
Lee and Stewart will appear on Saturday, June 29; Punk will attend on Friday, June 28; Reedus, Bernthal and Riggs are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday; Holden and Rooker are both slated for all three days.
Other standout special guests include Hockey Hall of Famer Brian Leetch, Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, both appearing Saturday, and Wil Wheaton (“Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark: The New Adventure of Superman”), Pam Grier (“Smallville,” “The L Word”), Anthony Michael Hall (Batman, Sixteen Candles), James Marsters (“Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Caprica”), Sarah Underwood (“Attack of the Show,” The House Bunny) and Jason David Frank (“Mighty Morphin Power Rangers”), all scheduled for the full three days.
A highlight of the event is the Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience Celebrity Cruise on Friday from 9 p.m. – midnight (additional ticket required). Reedus, Rooker and Bernthal are scheduled to be aboard as the ship sails from Basketball City up past the Freedom Tower. All attendees must be 21 years of age, and DJ, buffet menu and two free drinks are included, and a ticket to any day of the event is required in order to purchase tickets for the cruise.
The Artist Alley at Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience will also feature Mike Zeck (“Spider-Man,” “Punisher”), Jim Cheung (“Avengers Vs. X-Men,” “Uncanny X-Men”), Stan Goldberg (“Archie,” “Simpsons Comics”), “Zombie King” Arthur Suydam (“Marvel Zombies,” “Army of Darkness”), Michael Golden (“Hulk,” “Daredevil”), Rick Buckler (“New Crusaders,” “Thor”) and J.G. Jones (“Final Crisis,” “Wanted”).
Additionally, all full price attendees will receive a free copy of the Exclusive Variant Cover of The Walking Dead #1 comic, available only at Comic Con Wizard World NYC Experience.
Wizard World Comic Con NYC Experience will be the fourth of eight events on the 2013 calendar, which also includes shows in Chicago (Aug. 8-11), Columbus, Ohio (Sept. 20-22), Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 18-20) and Austin, Texas (Nov. 22-24). Wizard World has also scheduled four 2014 dates: Portland, Ore. (Jan. 24-26), New Orleans (Feb. 7-9), St. Louis (April 4-6) and Philadelphia (June 19-22).
