Dark Avengers #6 (Marvel – Bendis / Deodato / Beredo)
DARK REIGN Big, bold choices! That’s what Norman Osborn’s H.A.M.M.E.R. and Avengers have been all about! And with every bold choice comes more and more risk! And with risk comes pressure! And with pressure…come the voices. How long can Norman Osborn hold it together? And what is he willing to do to make it look like everything is just fine!
If you were hoping to follow Osborn during the course of Dark Reign and you only wanted to pick up one book, this is really the book you should be reading.
Norman has one really good thing going for him, he still has Sentry in check and he is using him and manipulating the alter-ego Void to be his huge muscle-man. I mean having a combination of Superman / Hulk in your corner is a pretty sweet deal… too bad the Sentry is slowly losing his battle with the Void. What is Norman up against? Let’s see… the Cabal is on the fritz with Namor being the major tantrum-thrower (big surprize), Captain Marvel is AWOL (either from figuring out he is working for the badguys or still in the afterglow of a night of brutish sex with Moonstone)… oh yea, and the Goblin is popping up his head again as Norman starts to lose his sanity.
It will be interesting days coming up for the Marvel Universe.
A well-written book, but not for the kiddies
Issue grade: B+
P.S. Marvel is up to it’s old cover-ticks again, this cover has nothing to do with the issue at all
