Mirror’s Edge #3 (of 6) (Wildstorm – Pratchett / Smith)
Based on the exciting new video game from Electronic Arts! On the run from the police force and using every newfound skill she’s learning as a Runner, Faith uncovers the truth behind her family’s secrets – secrets that her estranged father has been trying to keep from her at all costs!
Written by famed game writer Rhianna Pratchett and illustrated by Matthew Dow Smith (SUPERNATURAL: ORIGINS), this new book presents an adventure that will further flesh out this incredible video game world!
No offense to Rhianna Pratchett, but apparently writing video games and writing comics are two very different things… different pacing and different vibes.
This series (and I read them a few times to make sure I wasn’t being unfair to this comic newbie) zigs when it should zag, stays long when it should zip and flies when it should have a dramatic pause. Originally the cover art drew me to these issues, but nothing makes me want to stay.
There is nothing of real interest is going on here, Faith does not inspire the reader to be a part of her story. And at $3.99 an issue… it’s just a waste of time.
