Millar’s KICK-ASS Headed to Hollywood

Greg here, I just read this over at AICN. I thought you might like to know. Christopher Mintz-Plasse (“Superbad”) is negotiating to play the villainous Red Mist in “Kick-Ass,” based on the spectacular and spectacularly violent comic book series written by Mark Millar (“The Ultimates,” “The Authority,” “Wanted”).

Matthew Vaughn (“Layer Cake,” “Stardust”) directs from a screenplay he wrote with his “Stardust” co-scripter Jane Goldman. Already cast is Chloe Moretz (“Dirty Sexy Money”), who plays a sword-brandishing pre-teen vigilante. The comic tells the tale of a high school nerd (still uncast), devoid of anything resembling a superpower, who puts on a costume and heads into really bad neighborhoods to mete out justice. Find all of The Hollywood Reporter’s story on the matter here.”

I haven’t read Kick-Ass yet, but I know it’s been getting solid reviews. Plus, this McLovin kid needs something to keep him busy. Actors who try and ride the nerd wagon forever usually end up disappearing.
