Ancient evil has taken over the world (actually taken the world), malicious shamans and the like are plotting and planning how to stay king of the “baddie” mountain and now the good guys have finally started to compare notes and form ranks.  It’s pretty cool seeing different “mage” archetypes (genre-wise speaking) working together.  This series has a lot going for it.  The writing is crisp and well constructed.  It’s a new and refreshing take on the “magic war” theme.   The art equally rocks, it’s is well detailed, enhances the story-telling  and is serious eye candy (one of the supporting characters is a quick-thinking show girl who is help fight giant bugs in fishnets and heels).

I know this book isn’t out for a few weeks, but that will give you time to get issues #1-3 and catch up!  You won’t be disappointed.

The Bottom Line: Great storytelling + supernatural adventure + hot art – lame predictable plot devices = Awesome book!
