Salem’s Daughter: The Haunting #2 (Zenescope – Tedesco / Brusha /  Otero / Pilcz)

As Anna and Braden delve into the mysterious possessions, an exorcism of a young teen is a priority. But something goes awry and Anna knows that this spirit is more powerful than she could have imagined. The series that the Philadelphia Daily News called ‘one of the year’s best’ has returned with a brand new story arc that will leave you breathless!

I was a big fan of the first run of this series a few years ago.  And now I am playing catch up.

Over the holiday weekend I was able to read the first two issues of The Haunting (and yes I know issue #3 is out) and I am still thoroughly impressed by the creative teams at Zenescope and their ability to synthesize two different genres that still keep the spirit of both – the spookiness of a supernatural thriller and the raw action of a good gun-toting western.

Braden and Anna are up against an evil spirit that just won’t stay exorcised! Plus a dark hooded figure trying to posses Anna herself!

This is a great story – both dark and adventurous!  Ralph Tedesco is excellent at setting the stage – writing 2-3 page mini-stories that really draw the reader in and help the over all plot along.  The art is good, not the normal glossy eye-delights you see in many of the Zene-books, but still better than most of what you see on the shelves of your local comic shop.
