Uncanny X-men #1 (Marvel - Pacheco / Gallen / Smith)

What is to become of the mutants who side with Cyclops after the big split? And what does it have to do with the resurrected Mister Sinister?

My last X-Book review I took a look at team Wolverine and his new school. The book impressed and gave me high hopes for Cyclops’s crew. While Wolverine and the X-men was about new beginnings, Uncanny felt like going back to business as usual. Mr.Sinister has returned and Cyclops must lead an assault against his giant robot of doom! The fight scene gave the team a chance to show off the kind of power one would expect from a team boasting Magneto, Namor and a Juggernaut fueled Colossus. Cyclops shows he was born to lead by coordinating the team. Yet despite the action and great art I felt it was lacking something. I don’t think enough was put before new readers to help them swallow the idea of utopia and an X-Men team composed mostly of former villains. Overall it was a good read, good art but nothing GREAT.
