Atomic Robo: The Ghost of Station X #2 (Red 5 - Clevinger / Wegener / Pattison / Powell)

You may be asking yourself, ‘What is this Atomic Robot all about anyway? I hear nothing but praise for it, yet I continue to buy boring and overpriced comics I don’t enjoy instead.’ Do yourself a favor and find out why there’s so much love for this series. Don’t want to start ‘in the middle?’ Shut up, you can start with any volume. Hell, you can start with this issue, watch: last issue Robo tried to rescue some astronauts. This issue IT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG — BAM! — now you’re caught up.

This blurb from Red 5 pretty much sums it up.  Regardless of reboots, cross-over adventures, big events or renumbering – the truth of the matter is (and I am speaking as someone who has been a Marvel fan since I was 12, yup that’s 27 years), it’s still a crap shoot as to whether or not you get a solid story or consistent art quality when you buy a book from one of the big 2. We are now in the 6th volume of Atomic Robo – and I have yet to be disappointed with any aspect of the book, volume or overall series.

As far as quality for your hard-earned comic dollar, Atomic Robo is the best bet I know of as far as family-friendly series on the shelf.

So how does a missing museum building and a plot against Robo and his team relate to one another?  The mystery starts to clear up with this issue.  As I stated above, both the great intriguing plot-line and the absolutely consistent high-quality of art have been a stalwart characteristic of the Atomic Robo line, six volumes and running!

Issue Grade: A

The bottom line: I would buy anything that this creative team put together!
