So, I was quoting Buckaroo Bonzai at the dinner table and my daughters asked “who on Earth is Buckaroo Bonzai? it sounds like a bubble gum flavor”.  The joy of being a geek  dad is being able to school my own children in all that is good and right in the world – so immediately after dinner, I brought up three or four different trailers for the original film and it’s updated DVD to try to draw interest in them… all of us were astounded by the striking similarities between Buckaroo’s  jacket / bow tie look with Matt Smith’s eleventh Doctor.  After a little bit of research, it would seem there are others who have seen this before and have blogged about the connection – and others who don’t believe it is anything but total circumstantial evidence.  For the official ballot I am in the former group, Steven Moffat is smart enough to know a good thing when he sees it!
