Reed Gunther #5 (Image – Houghton / Houghton)
In the thrilling conclusion to the first story arc, Reed must find a secluded spot in New York City to hide the powerful monster-generating Idol! But where can he hide such a dangerous item in one of the most crowded (and now monster-infested) cities on the planet?
I have been following Reed Gunther well before the head honchos at Image made the smart move and brought the bear-riding cowboy into the family and have always thought he was of the best family treats to ever be put on a page
And since hitting the big time comic racks, he has only gotten better (and not to mention colorized!)
Issue five closes out the Freakshow arc and is once again a perfect blend of action, melodrama, and slapstick hi-jinks all wrapped in a cowboy genre that will be enjoyed by ever member of the family.
The Bottom Line: It’s a great humorous family-friendly – Reed Gunther is keeping company with Brisco County Jr. and James West!
Issue Grade: A
