Grimm Fairy Tales: Myths and Legends #2 (Zenescope – Gregory / Miller / Embury / Campbell)

Zenescope’s newest ongoing series continues here! A storm arrives, cutting off the facility from the rest of the world as patients continue to disappear. Meanwhile the unsuspecting staff of the Seidwell facility has yet to realize that they are being picked off one by one by something not of this world. Don’t miss issue #2 of this exciting new Grimm spin off series.

Issue #2 reads like it was taken from a fantastic horror movie – A dark and gothic hospital setting, a cast of devious characters, vicious unexplained attacks, the only eyewitness accounts of the attacks coming from unreliable mental patients, a driven and powerful supernatural beast on the prowl, a horrible storm and the power has gone out.

Yes, these seem like cliches – but at the hands of author Raven Gregory , these “cliches” become plot devices that feel fresh and drive a story that the reader is easily drawn into.

Issue #2 of Myths and Legends feels much like a stand alone horror story and channels a great deal of the energy and dark-themed intensity that is reminiscent from the early years of Grimm Fairy Tales.   I love the fact that Zenescope would offer a series like this, letting readers dive back into a good gritty anthology run that isn’t directly tied to their larger Grimmverse.  Not that I don’t enjoy that, or that I am not looking forward to the Dream-Eater series – but sometimes I just want to enjoy a great horror read!

Bottom Line: Definitely put this on your pull list!
