Just dropping a note for anyone out there who is saying to themselves “boy, I would love to go to a con… but I just don’t have the dough”.  Well, most cons have some sort of volunteer option… you work several hours and you get a free ticket and maybe some other goodies.  Something to look into for your next con of choice.  Both Jotham and I have done it… if you need to, it’s not a bad gig at all.  On Sat, I met two volunteers in that boat, it was their job (for 6 hours) to sit and guard a door (the one in the background)… no one in and no out, unless authorized.  In exchange, they got a free ticket to the con ($50), an autographed pic from their celebrity of choice and other goodies.  Both very nice and socialable… on the left is Gwen, she sells used books online here… the guy on the right, sorry man, forgot it. :(
