One of the things I love about a comic book convention is meeting all the independent artist and writers, folks who are putting it all out there… investing their time and money to make their dream come true. While some of the creative souls we met last weekend should probabily go back to their day job… this is not true of one Gemma Keech. Ms. Keech is a writer, artist, art teacher and self-publishes two books right now. The first is called “Clay Shaper”, a well-told almost mythological tale linking fantasy and self-discovery. The second book is called “Squeeze it out you Brain” and it is a writing tool to help young writers find their voice and style. From what I saw both are excellent! While her artwork is not considered realistic, it isn’t meant to be… her art matches her story-telling style of a third person narrative telling a well-purposed fable. Check out her site.
